Captain Matt Sealgaer 2004

The name of the game was to have fun and Matt was really creative in finding ways of making the game fun.

A drunken Matt was an adventure into many lands.  As he would get drunk, he would start speaking in other languages.  I don’t think deliberately.  I don’t know how many foreign languages he knew, but I know he knew; Spanish, German, Russian, Gaelic, Yiddish, and some sort of Arabic. Matt served some time in the military in places unknown to others, but I think he lived in interesting times.

With all of that intelligence, and a keen desire to write,
Matt wrote some wonderful prose.  If you asked him,
he would tell you he wasn’t good, but he really was.
He was reticent about his abilities. He was also work-
ing on an action fantasy novel.

Whenever Sealgäer won at a tournament, he wouldn't
admit it.  He would claim the old seadog or the
black dog won.  He hated being sick, because he was
getting so much attention.

Matt was always there to help, lend a hand, be an ear.  He taught and laughed and loved.  Wherever you are, Captain Sealgäer, please know that you touched everyone that you met and you will be sorely missed.  You have left a great hole in the fabric of our lives.
