We provide a setting for medievalists to act out the role of a warrior, artisan, minstrel, noble, cleric and more. You are encouraged to try your hand at any of the competitions. Based in Maryland, we strive to re-create the flavor of a bygone era in our conduct and competitions. The concept of fun carries through in what is done during any gathering. The Duchy of
Chesapeake encourages creativity in the areas of competition and persona development.

Combat: Sword fighting is done at four levels of skill: 
shinai, light renaissance (rapiers), heavy renaissance  
(cut & thrust) and steel.  

Archery: We engage in both target & combat archery.
Longbow or Recurve bows are used.

Arts: Arts & Sciences tournaments are competitions on
handmade items made by artisans and judged by
qualified judges.
